My First Cameo
For nine years now we’ve hosted a neighborhood BBQ for the 4th of July. A key element of the event is an outdoor viewing of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Championship. I got really into the overblown spectacle of the Nathan’s event a number of years ago and love sharing it with others, especially excitable children.
Since this year was America’s 250th it seemed like a good time to do something special for the BBQ. While I was out for a run (when I do all of my most creative thinking these days) I had the idea to try to buy a Cameo to have someone provide an introduction to our ‘4th of July Spectacular’. While repeat champion Joey Chestnut was no longer on Cameo, I was pleased to find that Nathan’s Championship announcer George Shea was. So I sprung for my first Cameo. It was easy! And well worth the investment as far as I’m concerned. But you can be the judge:
